ABOUT MISSISSIPPI DYSLEXIA CENTERS
Mississippi Dyslexia Centers offers therapy to individuals of all ages. MDC offers therapy during the school day, after school and also through virtual technology. MDC is dedicated to providing high-quality services that meet the needs of all learners.
Our Dyslexia Therapy Program is a structured, sequential, multi-sensory approach to the English language. It involves reading comprehension, fluency, spelling, handwriting, grammar and written expression. Aside from its multi-sensory approach which is different from most traditional classrooms, one of the strengths of the program is its daily built-in review.
Dyslexia Therapy is a research-based program to work with students who have dyslexia and related disorders. The core of the training evolved from Orton-Gillingham, a scientific, universally successful, specific teaching approach that combines all three learning modalities: auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. This training program has been strongly supported by both the National and Mississippi Scottish Rite Masons.
MDC employs highly trained professionals who have earned or are in the process of earning their Masters of Education in Dyslexia Therapy and have or will obtain a Mississippi Class AA license in Dyslexia as well as Certification through the Academic Language Therapy Association.
To meet the educational needs of individuals by providing quality dyslexia therapy.
Through systematic, multi-sensory language instruction, MDC is committed to helping individuals become confident self-advocates as they strive to achieve their educational and life goals.
